OUR PASTOR

Reverend Joseph W. Franklin is a native of Alexandria, Louisiana. He is married to Sis. Sandra G. Franklin and this union has reached almost thirty years. To this union, three daughters, Kimberly, Erin, and Briana, were born. Pastor Franklin has served as pastor of the Mount Triumph Missionary Baptist Church since 1988. Under his leadership, various ministries were birthed and others enhanced. He has a genuine concern for the youth, a sincere outlook for the seniors, and a vision for the entire flock. In 2006, his greatest vision was personified with the erection of a new worship edifice. But his vision did not end there. Immediately, he began working diligently to make Mt. Triumph a place that met the overall needs of her people.

Today, Pastor Franklin still works to enhance all ministries in the church. Outside of Mt. Triumph, Pastor Franklin has served as Executive Director of Family Counseling Agency and currently serves as a deputy for the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office. His community involvement has placed him on the Board of Directors of Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors of Renaissance Home for Youth, Community Action Committee for Fetal Mortality, Chairman of Ministers of Economic Development, Governor Bobby Jindal’s Transition Team, the Advisory Youth Committee, and he was the 2009 Man of Substance Award recipient.

Pastor Franklin’s sense of leadership in both secular and sacred scenarios has equipped him with the necessary tools to impact any person who comes through the doors of Mt. Triumph. Moreover, his biblical training in the academic setting (Master’s in Theology) has girded him with the knowledge necessary to complete the Great Commission of the Church: to bring lost souls to Christ.
